On Thursday Oct. 2, the lectures take place in the Novotel Ieper Centrum hotel, and on Friday Oct. 3, the hands-on exercises take place at the Keros ET Center in Beselare.
The lectures will begin on Thursday at 9:00 AM sharp, with registration and welcome starting at 8:30 AM at the Novotel Ieper Centrum Hotel.
We highly recommend attending the "Last Post" ceremony at 20:00 on Wednesday. Since 1928, this solemn tribute has been performed every evening under the imposing arches of the Menin Gate, honoring the soldiers who fought around Ypres during World War I.
After the Last Post ceremony, we invite all participants and accompanying persons to join us for an informal dinner at one of the many restaurants in Ypres’ market square (just a 4-minute walk from the Menin Gate). This will be a great opportunity to connect with fellow participants and instructors. (Please note that this dinner is optional and not included in the course fee. Reservation is necessary.)
Additionally, we recommend visiting the In Flanders Fields Museum, the Yper Museum, and the Hooge Crater Museum in Ypres, as well as the Passchendaele Museum in Zonnebeke.
We will gather in the meeting room of the Novotel Ieper Centrum Hotel between 8:30 and 9:00. Lectures will start promptly at 9:00.
Coffee breaks and lunch will be provided.
All participants and instructors are invited to dinner at the Les Halles restaurant in Ypres (dinner is included in the registration fee). If you have any dietary preferences or requirements (vegetarian, vegan, allergies, or other), please inform us in advance so we can accommodate your needs. Accompanying persons are welcome to join us for dinner. Kindly notify us in advance so we can adjust the reservations accordingly.
The hands-on training will take place at the Keros ET Center (Hoenstraat 7, 8980 Zonnebeke). The ET center is located at 11 km from the Novotel Ieper Centrum (20 min drive).
For those needing transportation, a shuttle will be organized to take you to and bring you back to the Novotel Ieper Centrum Hotel.
Lunch, coffee, and beverages will be offered on location. Bring warm clothes as part of the exercises will take place in an unheated barn.
The course will end at 16:30 sharp on Friday.
Check the NMBS website for train schedules and direct trains to Gent, Brussels or Brussels International Airport. Please consult the train schedules and count on a 30-minute drive from the Keros ET Center to the train station in Ypres.
For those needing transportation, shuttles will be organized to take you back to the Novotel Hotel or the Ypres train station.
We will provide transportation between the Novotel and the Keros ET Center.
The closest airport is Brussels International Airport. This airport has a train connection that takes you from the airport building directly to Ypres (sometimes with changes in Gent and or Kortrijk).
Beware, travel time from the Brussels South Charleroi airport to Ypres is longer and more complicated. There are no trains from Charleroi to Ypres The bus ride takes 3 hours.
We recommend the Novotel Ieper Centrum Hotel in Ypres. The lectures will be held in this hotel on Thursday, Oct. 2nd.
We have negotiated a discounted group rate with the Novotel Hotel. The price for a standard single-occupancy room with breakfast is €126.90/night, and €151.90 for a double-occupancy room with breakfast. Please let us know if you would like to stay at this hotel. We will make the reservations and invoice you.
